John 16:17

When I see you again, you'll be full of joy, and it will be a joy no one can rob from you.
23 You'll no longer be so full of questions.
24 Ask in my name, according to my will, and he'll most certainly give it to you. Your joy will be a river overflowing its banks!

25 "I've used figures of speech in telling you these things. Soon I'll drop the figures and tell you about the Father in plain language.
26 Then you can make your requests directly to him in relation to this life I've revealed to you. I won't continue making requests of the Father on your behalf.
27 I won't need to. Because you've gone out on a limb, committed yourselves to love and trust in me, believing I came directly from the Father, the Father loves you directly. 28 First, I left the Father and arrived in the world; now I leave the world and travel to the Father."

John 16:22-28 MSG

For the Father himself loves you, because you have loved me and have believed that I came from God.

John 16:27 NET
I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you. 23 In that day you will ask nothing of me. Truly, truly, I say to you, whatever you ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you. 24 Until now you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.

25 “I have said these things to you in figures of speech. The hour is coming when I will no longer speak to you in figures of speech but will tell you plainly about the Father. 26 In that day you will ask in my name, and I do not say to you that I will ask the Father on your behalf; 27 for the Father himself loves you, because you have loved me and have believed that I came from God. 28 I came from the Father and have come into the world, and now I am leaving the world and going to the Father.”
